More “Backpacks for Kids” From EDCAR’s Charity Golf Tournament

Below are photos of approximately 75 backpacks made for kids in El Dorado County in July 2010. These backpacks include toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, comb/brush, shampoo, washcloths, etc), blankets, toys, school supplies, coloring books, and other items, based on age and gender. Packs were prepared for newborns (with bottles and diapers) all the way up to 18 years old.

All of these items were purchased with the proceeds from the 2009 EDCAR Golf Classic golf tournament. Please visit the official website to learn more about supporting this cause through EDCAR’s 2010 “Golf Classic” tournament: www.edcar4kids.com

These were delivered to the El Dorado County Department of Human Services – Children’s Protective Services on July 9th, 2010.

EDCAR’s Honor Our Troops “Yellow Ribbon Kick-Off” – Post Event Photos

EDCAR’s “Honor Our Troops” committee held their “Yellow Ribbon Rib Eye” Kick Off event at the Sequoia Restaurant on Bee Street in Placerville on June 16th, the net proceeds of which will be used to put together care packages for members of the armed forces from El Dorado County serving overseas. The Sequoia Restaurant is generously giving all the soldiers on our list a free special meal when the come home, so remember the Sequoia when you are looking for a place for a really special evening out in Placerville! And be sure to tell them how much you appreciate their contribution to our soldiers when you go!

YPN Symposium with Special Guests Frank Garay and Brian Stevens of Think Big Work Small

EDCAR’s “Innovative Real Estate Professionals Group”, the YPN chapter for El Dorado County, will be hosting a special symposium special guests Frank Garay and Brian Stevens from Think Big Work Small. This meeting will serve the mission of our committee, which is designed to discuss issues and innovation within our market and industries, and to share ideas about new developments, trends, and new technologies.

Frank Garay and Brian Stevens are the co-creators of Think Big Work Small and hosts of the wildly popular TBWS Daily Show that’s seen by tens of thousands of mortgage and real estate professionals every day, which they characterize as “an unbelievably innovative and intelligent gang of viewers”.

This meeting is for EDCAR members and will be held at the Cameron Park Community Center on Friday, April 30th from 10:00-12:00. If you plan to attend, please RSVP in advance with Jason DeBord by e-mailing rsvp@edcar-ypn.com.

“Shamrock Bowl” Bowling Tournament – Post Event Photos

Our second charity bowling tournament with net proceeds benefiting Catastrophic Aid for Real Estate (C.A.R.E.) was held on March 16th, 2010 and was a huge success. Participants had a great time and we raised over $1,000 to the benefit of our non-profit organization.

C.A.R.E.’s “Lucky Shamrock” Bowling Tournament

We are pleased to announce C.A.R.E.’s (Catastrophic Aid for Real Estate) second bowling tournament, with net proceeds benefiting the charity. This event, the “Lucky Shamrock” bowling tournament, will be on Tuesday, March 16th (the day before St. Patrick’s Day).

In November, with our first event, we sold out tickets to the one session in 24 hours (12 lanes with 4 bowlers per team, so 48 players). With this event, we will have two session in order to better try to accommodate the demand.

Session One will be from 9:30-11:30 and Session Two will be from 12:30-2:30 with a shared one-hour lunch in-between.

EDCAR will be hosting a special breakfast for our “Honor Our Troops” initiative on Saturday, January 23rd from 7:00am to 11:00am at the Veteran’s Memorial Building at 130 Placerville Drive – $5 for adults and $2 for children.

Proceeds will be used toward the care packages that we send to soldiers from El Dorado County serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Lyon Real Estate hosted its 12th Annual Chili Feed event in Fair Oaks this week, the net proceeds of which benefit C.A.R.E. (Catastrophic Aid for Real Estate) and Salvation Army CanTree. Tremendous thanks to all who supported and attended this event, which led to a fantastic result. Full details can be found at www.CAREgives.org.

We had a fantastic turn out and participants had a great time. Based on preliminary estimates, we raised over $20,000 to the benefit the two non-profit organizations. A detailed announcement will be made soon.

ERA Annual Open House Benefiting “Toys for Tots”

ERA Realty Center & Stanford Mortgage will be holding their Annual Open House Benefiting Toys for Tots. This will be held at ERA Realty Center in El Dorado Hills at Town Center on Thursday, December 10th from 5:00 to 7:30. Included is food and festivities, free photos with Santa, and a coloring contest. We are also accepting unwrapped new toys at all ERA offices which will be donated to the Toys for Tots program. Attached below is a flyer with all of the details.
